wow!!! that's so weird, i'm drawing a surreal picture of trees at the moment that looks a little like the trees in this picture! yours look mean, though. like spider legs, those roots.
well deserved DD.

Of course I am. :D

I like your colored pics, so I'd vote yes, I think, but especially the root section's working great in B&W.

Likewise, Simon! (I'm in turn inspired by many, so that works out as a fine symbiosis, I suppose. :D)

Nice blend from foreground to background. About that, I assume that's a waterfall at the end of the chasm? If you read it as an opening it changes everything.

Thank you! Hehe! Nah! Supposed to be, well... a crack in the forest wall. 'The Greensgate', leading to, probably, a place of magic and bliss. Changes how? :D

When I thought it was a waterfall, I imaging a closed passage, no way out. With a gap and light behind as you have clarified, there is still hope, making a mad dash for the exit worth the risk. Nice work!

I can see how that would add to the gloomy athmosphere."Dead-end".:)
Thank you! (I could also hint to a subtle erotic or 'mother earth'- related symbolics in there.)

I really like the sense of depth going straight up the center of the piece.

Thank you! There was an even greater sense of depth in the wip-stages, with a bit more 'blurred' background. I just cant help myself for embellishing on the details, and lose some of the effect in the finished piece. Glad to hear enough of the effect still is in order. :)

Reminds me of Castle in the Sky. The end scene where Mousca is chasing around Sheeta in the Castle ruins flooded with greenery. Very nice.

Actually I didn't feel good about saying what I did, it was silly.
You are a much more accomplished artist than I am....
If you really look closely, nature herself is very erotic and
we(all) are part of it....sometimes the symbolism comes out unconsciously, or consciously, of course. : )
