I'm a teacher in Art & Design, currently employed at Vågen high school in Sandnes, Norway.
As you may percieve from my Id picture, I'd like to portray myself as an outdoorsy kind of guy. At the same time, my vacant, spiritual gaze is supposed to hint some artistic ambition.
As a teacher I try to absorb at least some knowledge within most genres of art, but my personal choice in motifs have always revolved around "youthful" themes as dragons, trolls, mystical forests etc. This has, not surprisingly, often proven a benefit in my work with artistic teens at school. (Though, I might at times be in peril of being branded as unserious and immature for the same reason.)
I was introduced to dA from my students during a chat regarding such themes, and have later on been using this excellent site to find examples within different techniques and medias.
Discussions with my students have occasionally led to me being challenged to join myself. I resisted this for a few years, but now even the school management encourages us to join the web-societies, for to keep ourselves "updated" in relation to the environments young people frequent in today...
And so, since I refuse to join facebook, here's my doodles!
Hope you'll all enjoy them! :)
